Dear Applicant,
Thank you for your interest in the position of Deputy Headteacher at Ormskirk School.
The Endeavour Learning Trust board and I are delighted to provide the enclosed information about the role and our School. I hope you find it helpful and on behalf of the whole school community, I would like to take this opportunity to extend a very warm welcome.
Endeavour Learning Trust is a growing Trust in the North West, currently spanning South Ribble, West Lancashire and North Sefton. In our family of schools at this point in our growth, we have four secondary schools and four primary schools formally within the Trust.
Our mission and values provide a clear framework for us to work to. We are absolutely committed to serving our communities to ensure that every child achieves their potential by providing the highest quality educational experience in a truly inclusive way.
As a Trust, we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach for our schools or our students. We respect and celebrate individuality, working with a clear determination to support our children, colleagues and communities, both collectively, and individually, to flourish and thrive through a rich and transformational provision.
We believe in the value of collaboration, and everybody working with the Trust shares a collective responsibility for the success of all of our children. We also recognise that we will never be successful in delivering our vision for our young people unless our colleagues are supported, nurtured and developed to achieve their full potential with us. That’s why we are equally committed to ensuring every colleague benefits from the best possible employment experience where high-quality CPD and a
sincere approach to supporting wellbeing enable our colleagues to achieve their own aspirations for their career.
We hope the enclosed information will give you good insight into our School & Trust.
We look forward to viewing your application.
Yours faithfully,
David Clayton
Chief Executive
Ormskirk School is a warm and welcoming place, filled with wonderful children and a dedicated staff who are proud to work for the school. Over the last four years, the school has been improving every year, but we have made sure that the improvements have firm foundations. The improvements we have made have centred around a broad and balanced curriculum, improvements in behaviour, teaching and learning and developing an open culture where staff are happy to work and feel confident to express their views. We were absolutely delighted with our recent Ofsted where the improvements we have made were finally recognised. We are now looking for a Deputy Head who will embrace this culture of openness and further develop our school.
Our vision for every student at Ormskirk School is simple yet meaningful: Proud to Belong. We want each child to feel proud to be part of a school that is aspirational, inclusive, and kind.
Aspirational – At Ormskirk, we inspire students and staff to always do their best. With encouragement to persevere and embrace challenges, we cultivate a growth mindset that values hard work and determination, empowering everyone to reach their full potential and celebrate meaningful achievements.
Inclusive – Ormskirk is a welcoming, diverse community where every individual is respected and valued. We embrace all backgrounds, abilities, and identities, fostering a sense of belonging and equal opportunity. By promoting empathy and understanding, we create a supportive environment where students and staff can
thrive together.
Kind – Kindness is central to our school’s ethos. We encourage compassion, respect, and patience, creating a nurturing atmosphere where students and staff support one another. Through acts of kindness, we build positive relationships, teaching students the importance of empathy and mutual care within and beyond our community.
We are passionate about creating a kind and nurturing environment where children grow to be happy, respectful, and independent. Each child’s successful development is a mission we hold dear, and we believe every child deserves to feel safe, well-supported, and inspired by the joy of learning and the pride that follows hard work. We are also passionate about creating the right environment where staff can thrive in a supportive and challenging environment.
One of our core priorities is fostering a spirit of community and a genuine family feel within our school. Our students are supported by key staff members who challenge them to be their very best. We strive for a balance between academic and personal growth, giving each child the support and encouragement they need, alongside the stretch and challenge that helps them grow.
We are really looking forward to your application.
